Tips for Selling Your Home

As any homeowner prepares to sell their house, there are some tips which can help to get your home market-ready. In putting these tips to use, you are taking steps to ensure that you sell your house for the most money.
Use fast and inexpensive fixes that have proven effective. Keep the curb appeal of your home amazing as, after all, this is the first impression your buyers will have. Be sure the lawn is kept manicured at all times, mow on the diagonal and plant some yellow flowers in the front yard, as yellow has been proven to sell. Remove any cobwebs and spray off dirt from the exterior. Wash the windows. Replace or paint the front door and mailbox.
Most homes have too much furniture. This makes rooms appear small and cluttered. A storage unit will run around $100 per month or pieces can be placed in your own garage. Remove and store two or three pieces of furniture. Patch holes in walls, remove personal photos and hang non-personalized artwork. Clean out closets, the pantry, and kitchen cabinets to give your home an organized feel.
Do your spring cleaning prior to showing your house. Clean the carpets with a rental steamer or call a company to have it done. Dust everything, high and low. Polish flooring. Wash ceiling fan blades and light fixtures. Think about removing unnecessary doors to open up your floor plan.
Add some updates to your kitchen. If your budget allows granite, install it. If not, re-grout the kitchen counter tiles, or use granite tiles to cover them, rather than granite slab. Give cabinets a fresh coat of stain or paint. Replace the kitchen faucet and add new hardware to cabinets.
With some work and a few new additions, your home can be ready to sell in very little time. Good luck!
